Spotlight: Jessica Foster

My name is Jessica. As far as I can recall, I’ve been creating stories for as long as I’ve known c-a-t spells cat and m-a-t spells mat. As soon as I knew that words formed sentences and sentences formed stories, I’ve been writing down the creations of my wild imagination.

These days, I write young adult fantasy. I’ve finished several novels and currently am learning the editing process. It’s a whole different beast from writing, that’s for certain. I’ve attended the Storymaker’s Conference for three years (with a three year break in the middle to serve a mission). Pretty much everything I’ve learned in writing came from the Storymaker’s Conference and the friends I’ve made from it. I’m sure glad I decided to go that first year.

I graduated in from BYU in December with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Currently, I work overnights at a job that lets me write at work. My future is like a blank Word document and that makes life exciting. Forget how my life story will end, I’m just trying to figure out where it begins. For the moment, I live in Provo in a small run-down college apartment with a little spoiled dog and a ginormous spoiled kitten.

Jessica is a member of Authors Incognito. Catch up with Jessica at her blog, Breathings.

  1. It's so fun to get to know more about you, Jessica! And hey, the overnight job that lets you write - Brandon Sanderson did the same thing. He worked the night shift at a hotel, I think. =)
